End of The Year Thoughts and Review

December 31, 2014 By Meegan 1 Comment

This year in my life has been a year of growing and developing in many ways.  Now that it is the end of the year, I would like to reflect on what I have learned and accomplished.

REACH

This past year my “focus” word was REACH.

As I look back on this word and what it meant to me, I can see that I have been stretched beyond the word itself.  Not only through blogging, but life in general.

I have worked on my blogging REACH goals, and accomplished MOST of them.

The ones I still need to work on would be:

replying to every comment

making a video to be posted on my blog

attending a blog conference

workout often

I wasn’t able to attend a blogging conference, because I was helping one of our seven children.  One of our daughters moved across the country, from Utah to Georgia with 4 kids.

I helped her pack up her house, and the drive across to Georgia.

It was an honor and pleasure to help her. BUT, I did miss a conference by doing so.

The following week, I flew to Oregon to visit another daughter and her family.  Again, I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.

Even though I missed another conference…

Not making a video for my blog.  Is a regret, BUT still on my list for 2015.

It is a little more intimidating than I realized.  Some people can get right in front of a camera, comfortably make a tutorial and they are done.

For me, I am self conscience.  I really have no reason to be, BUT I am.

Replying to every comment went REALLY well until September.  The daughter that moved to Georgia, moved to Washington D.C., for her husband’s job.

I happily helped her pack her home and drove to her new home in Virginia.  The fact that I had never been on the East coast was a REAL draw for me.  And to be able to help her was fun and a wonderful bonding time.

I was gone for 2 weeks. Packing, unpacking, aaaaaaaand seeing the sights!  It was the trip of a lifetime!

Once I was home at the beginning of October, I was back into full swing with my blog, replying to comments, posting at least 3 times a week, and even scheduling a small local conference in.

I was so excited to attend the conference!  FINALLY I was going to hobnob with other bloggers, get tips, learn tricks, gain knowledge and have a little fun.

The conference was scheduled for November 20th.  I was ready to attend.  I even had my outfit picked out (HUGE smile)

On November 19th, my husband had been at work.

He didn’t feel well.  He could hardly breathe.  He ended up driving himself to the hospital from work because he thought he was having a heart attack.

He indeed was in the beginning stages of one.

After tests were read.  The consensus was he would be scheduled for a quadruple bypass the next morning.

Yep, you guessed it.  I missed the conference.  BUT absolutely, positively was where I wanted to be: By my husband’s side.

I have been by his side for the past 6 weeks.  The surgery was completely success.  He is now on his way to a FULL recovery.

Life is good.  It’s VERY, VERY good.

SOOO, have I completed my blogging goals for 2014???

For the most part, yes.  Have I succeeded in keeping my REACH and focus where it needed to be??? YES! On my family.

OH! I didn’t mention working out or exercise…

That was done consistently until my second trip back east and Hubby’s surgery.  That’s once again on the list for 2015.

I DID accomplish MANY of my REACH goals.  One of which was to be more personable with my readers.

You can read about them here and here.

I can’t wait to share next year’s focus word with you VERY soon.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me tell you of my End of The Year Thoughts and Review

Until then…

Happy New Year.
