Enjoy Your Fresh Cut Flowers

May 20, 2014 By Meegan 7 Comments

I am loving Spring for so many reasons.  Most of all, its flower season.  They are everywhere you look.  I hope you are taking time to Enjoy Your Fresh Cut Flowers.

Enjoy Your Fresh Cut Flowers

Hubby knows how much I like fresh-cut flowers.

I received this lovely bouquet from him for Mothers Day.

There is actually a funny (well, kinda) story to go along with this bouquet.  Hubby brought me home the most beautiful arrangement of hydrangeas and one gardenia for Mothers Day.  I was so pleased!  Hydrangeas are amazing, right???  Anyway, We woke up the very next morning to see EVERY flower drooping!  Boo!

I KNOW hydrangeas don’t last very long, but, really??? Overnight death for the hydrangeas???  Too soon!

Hubby called our dear friend that was making the floral arrangements for a Mothers Day fundraiser.  She felt horrible!  Monday night she brought over this incredible arrangement, made just for me!

Much better, wouldn’t you say???  The variety is perfect for me and my taste.  The roses, peonies and tulips are some of my favorites.

I even like the peonies and roses dried.  I have a special pace I want to keep them.  Like I do in our TV Room.

Is it hard for you to keep you floral arrangements fresh any longer than a week???  It used to be for me too, until I used these ideas that I shared on my blog last year: Floral Tips and Care.  Now I have my floral arrangements for at least 2 weeks.

It just takes a little time and planning.

My lovely Butterfly Bush outside our front door is looking full lately.

So I decided to bring some in.  They look happy in a vintage milk bottle, don’t they???

Even a dried peony looks pleased to be sitting next to the Butterfly Bush beauties.

One last picture.  I am crushing on my vignette here.  The clock, vintage milk bottle, fresh flowers, mirror, bird hooks and cloche all personify my taste and flavor.

Most of all, I am taking time to enjoy my fresh-cut flowers.  It just a few simple flowers to bring some Spring into your home.  Don’t just stick them in a vase and walk away.  Enjoy them, take care of them.

My message for you today:  Enjoy Your Fresh Cut Flowers

Make it a terrific Tuesday!

I’m totally crushing on that vignette too Meegan. Love the clock and all the elements and those are some great tips for keeping our flowers alive longer. I’m delighted to be sharing this gorgeous vignette on Shabbilicious Friday tomorrow.
