For a fun and unique craft, let’s learn How To Make an Orange Peel Wreath. Using fresh orange peel and wire you can make a fragrant accessory of your home, to make as a gift or even an ornament.
This tutorial could NOT be EASIER.
With just a couple of components, you can make as many as you want.
I used Cava Cava oranges because that’s what I had today. But I have also used naval oranges in the past.
Using a paring knife, carefully cut the peeling off of your orange.
For the best success, use 20 gauge craft wire. It bends and twists easily. For the size of wreath that I made, I cut the wire to 16 inches in length.
Tear or cut the peeling into 1 inch pieces-or to the size of your preference. Then carefully slide each peel slice onto the wire.
I placed the orange peels on the wire in the same direction. But of course, you could place them on any way YOU like.
Once I had the amount of peel pieces that filled the wire, I pushed them close together. Then twisted the wire tightly together.
For a simple loop and bow, I used jute wine. You could use lace, ribbon, bakers twine, or whatever you like.
To attach the bow, I used a hot glue gun and hot glue.
I like to use these for Springtime decorating, because they remind me of my Grandma’s Orange cupcakes. But of course you could use them anytime of year.
I hope you have enjoyed How To Make an Orange Peel Wreath and make your own soon.
Thanks for stopping by and making my day even better.
