My New Quilt

May 19, 2014 By Meegan 4 Comments

Hello my friends!!  Happy Monday!  It is a great start to a new week.  AND, I am excited to share My New Quilt with you today!!  It has been a long time coming.  Three years I have been looking for a Summer quilt.

We were in Utah to help Hubby’s father.  He is 89 yrs old.  He still drives, cooks for himself, does laundry, and straightens up his home.  But, he needed a little help with some life decisions, and it was our pleasure to spend time with him. After helping him for a few days, Hubby and I took a break.  Little did I know I was going to buy My New Quilt.

My New Quilt

Hubby took me to Gardener Village.  We had a fabulous lunch at Archibald’s.  The atmosphere is quaint and interesting.  The restaurant is located in a historic mill.  Inside the mill is also a furniture store.  Fun times! photo

After lunch we browsed through the shops. We walked into Village Quilt Shop.  Oh, my goodness!  Talk about quilt heaven!  I thought I was just browsing through the quilts. My New Quilt

But, when I spotted this lovely, I KNEW I needed to purchase her.  She was everything I was looking for in My New Quilt. My New Quilt

I fell in love with the ragged fabric, the colors, and the stripes going horizontal, rather than vertical.  Each stripe is a different fabric, with all the colors I like. Blues, greens, corals, yellow, and a touch of lavender.  I like the off white color for a Summer quilt.  It lends a fresh, clean look for the Summer months ahead. My New Quilt

The colors are just the right combination for our freshly painted bedroom and my bedroom furniture.

The rustic feel of the textures where just was I was looking for.  The pillow shams, with vertical stripes where the variety I was hoping for. Now to find a headboard.  I have been working on a few ideas. My New Quilt

I was so thrilled to FINALLY purchase My New Quilt.  I can hardly wait to make throw pillows and a new headboard.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Make it a wonderful Monday!

So pretty! We painted our bedroom blue this winter and I made sure all my bedding matched but totally forgot that in summer I’d be taking off the duvet and putting on my summer quilt, which is green and purple. Now I’m also on the hunt for a new quilt.

What a fun find! I love that the stripes are almost like little rustic ruffles…just beautiful. Thanks for sharing at my Creative Ways party ;-)
