No Sew Drop Cloth Heart Pillow

March 2, 2015 By Meegan Leave a Comment

I am excited to show you how to make your own No Sew Drop Cloth Heart Pillow.  It is easier than you think.  And a great gift for someone close to you all year long.  I am already thinking about Mother’s Day and Easter.  Are you?

I have been wanting to make a drop cloth pillow for awhile.  So, let me show you how I did it…

Valentine Heart Pillow1

You will need:

10×12 piece of frayed drop cloth

10×12 piece felt

10 faceted gems ( I bought mine at the craft store)

8 inches chiffon ribbon

hot glue gun

hot glue stick

1/2 yard quilt batting

scissors

rustic key

Heart Pillow Gems

Before gluing my faceted gems onto the drop cloth, I placed them in the heart shape.

With a hot glue gun, I adhered them to the 10×12 piece of frayed drop cloth with hot glue.

(I did NOT turn the pillow inside out)

I like frayed edges.  But you can use liquid hem if you like, instead of the frayed look.

Heart Pillow Felt Back

After the heart was glued to the drop cloth, I glued the felt to the drop cloth.  Leaving enough space to place the batting in.

Folding the batting small enough to fit in the space provided was easy.

Using my scissors I pushed the batting around to evenly fill the pillow.

To add some depth and interest, I added a rustic key tied with the chiffon lavender ribbon.  Yes, I even hot glued this on the pillow.  Easy peasy!
