Sea Glass Shell Bowl Pottery Barn Knock-off

July 5, 2014 By Meegan 5 Comments

Well, Happy Saturday everyone.  I hope you are all having a wonderful July 4th weekend.  Actually the 4th of July is my birthday.  I know-I am among very few people who share this birthday of our country.  It is an honor for me.  Thanks to ALL of my dear family and friends-I had a wonderful day.

Two of my lovely daughters had these gorgeous flowers sent to me.  I thought I would share them with you, too. I wish you could smell their fragrance filling our home.

As I have mentioned to you before, I am in the process of making our tiny balcony a retreat for Hubby and me.  It has been really fun.  During that process I made my Sea Glass Shell Bowl Pottery Barn Knock-off.

Pottery Barn’s price is just for the large shell, not the whole set up.  My cost was for everything in the vignette.

Let me break it down for you…

I had a fountain given to me.  The pump was too big for it, and then one of my sweet grand babies poured blowing bubbles into the water.  It ruined the too big of pump.  Oh well, right?  I mean I still had the shell.

My first thought was to fill it with succulents-which would look amazing!  But my history with plants, would show the succulents wouldn’t last under my care.

Funny thing is, I decided to fill it with sea glass I purchased from Pier1 Imports ($6), and a few flat marbles from Dollar Tree.  I had no idea about PB Sea Glass Shell Bowl until I was browsing through the online catalog.

I had added everything except for the vintage blue bottles.  I found my bottle in a quaint shop in Morro Bay, CA. It was $10Sea Glass Shell Bowl Pottery Barn Knock-off

The green and blue glass sphere was also a Pier1 find.  I paid $4 for it’s loveliness.Sea Glass Shell Bowl Pottery Barn Knock-off

Once I had seen the PB shell online, I decide to create a Sea Glass Shell Bowl Pottery Barn Knock-off.

Adding a few candles, jute, my grandma’s vintage perfume bottle filled with sea glass, and a little sand was all it took.  I was pleased with my Sea Glass Shell Bowl Pottery Barn Knock-off finished look.

My whole cost was $22 for the same idea and look of PB.  But for a fraction of the cost.  I LOVE when that happens, don’t you?  I was happy with my thought process of using the sea glass and the sphere, but to create a Sea Glass Shell Bowl Pottery Barn Knock-off was even BETTER!

Thanks for joining me today and letting me share what I love to do.

Make it a super Saturday!!

I want to start by saying that I think putting bubbles into the fountain sounds like a great idea!
