This is a post from last Fall, but I think it applies to now just as well, since Spring and Summer are upon us. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did pulling it together.
I know for some of you Summer is almost over. But, I don’t want it to end. I love the sun, the water, the warmth, the sound of people enjoying the outdoors, etc… I like to pretend we live in a beach cottage. I know I am old, I shouldn’t be pretending like that. But it is my dream-and we live in the desert so this is my only way to get that Summer beach cottage feeling.
In an effort to avoid getting my Fall Decor out, I rearranged my shells, and my candles on the top shelf of our bookcase. I looked around my home to see what I could come up with. It took me about 15 minutes to finish. I have shared this part of our living room with you before.

I’m not certain how you have time to be so clever and crafty, looks fun and makes me think of Hawaii :) also, can’t wait to try your pizza recipe!
Why thanks so much my friend! Thanks for stopping by my new blog!! Let me know if you try the pizza!!
Loves.
Soooo cute. I love how you express your feelings. I love the page wreath. I love the shells from different beach trips. Great post!;)
Claire-
You are always so nice! I appreciate your comments!
Reminds me of grandma. Guess I’ve got some of that in me too. I adore the summer. California heat waves and all. I love the beach. The rocks and shells and polished glass. And I love how you treasure your memories.
They remind me of Grandam, too. That is probably why I enjoy it so much! We need to head to the beach together sometime!!
Loves!
Congrats on your move! I love decorating with shells and that chunk of coral is fabulous! I’m ready for summer to end – but there’s nothing that says we can’t have summer indoors all year long!

Kelly,
How sweet are you to stop by my new blog. I am honored!!
AND I am tempted to leave it up all year ;)
It’s definitely summer time here in Florida. We are getting a shower right now but it’s warm and muggy. I LOVE the way you mix shells with old bottles and candles…all with a little chippy blue. Looks fantastic!
I love summer rain, Thanks for your compliments and for visiting my blog. I hope you come back for another visit.
Love the beach cottage look. It’s one of my favorites…well, anything cottage really. This shelf is such a beauty! So unique.
These shelves are beautiful and unique, and so imaginatively decorated! But I really, really need to know how you made those shelves – I so want shelves like that. Did you find them in a thrift store? Are they brand new? Did you make them? Please, please, spill the beans! Congrats on a delightful blog.
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your pretty summer beach cottage shelf at Project Inspire{d} linky party!! Pinned your post to our group linky party board! Heather
