Vintage Style Christmas Decorating

December 2, 2018 By Meegan 8 Comments

Today, I am sharing a few of my ideas for Vintage Style Christmas Decorating.

Sometimes it nice to display your thrifted and vintage finds whether they are specifically for Christmas or not.

With some fresh greens, red berries, fairy lights and small ornaments, you can bring the Christmas season in your home.

Tonight is about some of my Vintage Style Christmas Decorating tips and ideas.

*This post was updated November 2025.

I have always had a love of vintage style and pieces. From being enamored with my grandma’s home, her tea cup collection, crocheted items and love of family heirlooms, I gained an appreciation of all things vintage.

My collection of vintage blue mason jars started years ago. Having my grandpa’s original croquet box seems like the perfect way to display the vintage jars and bottles. Especially at Christmastime. Filling them with real greenery and faux floral picks, the bottles become a statement piece in our living room/kitchen area.

The kitchen open shelves are a fun way to create Vintage Style Christmas Decorating. With a couple of thrifted Christmas plates, crystals, a DIY moss tree, vintage candlesticks, chippy tin mugs, and, of course, Grandma’s vintage scale, this space is ready for Christmas.

The blue rimmed plate is a thrift find. The year inscribed on it, happens to be the year my husband and I were married. Definitely one of my favorite pieces up there.

Moving to the right of the open shelves, is a vintage cupboard given to me by a friend. She was on her way to take it to the dump. I stopped that as soon as I could!  I have enjoyed it for years, and will for a long time from now on.

The Victorian birdcage is a gift from my dad. Another one of my favorites. I have it up year round and enjoy filling it with seasonal décor.

I like the frosted wreath and greenery against the vintage style mirror. And, of course more vintage blue glass.

Swinging back around towards the living room, You get a glimpse of my living room decorated for Christmas. You can find that Christmas tour here.

For a tiny peek at my Christmas tree, I have used a vintage French crate to contain my Christmas ribbons. I will share more of that with you later this week.

Until then, thanks so much for stopping by to join me with my ideas for Vintage Style Christmas Decorating.

I love your style, Meegan! I, too, love vintage items, and you have so many good ones. I collect blue mason jars/medicine bottles, as well, and I love how you have styled yours. Plus, that cabinet, mirror, and scale are to die for!
