DIY Moss Easter Basket

February 27, 2013 By Meegan 13 Comments

Hello Hello!  How is your week going so far?  With Spring and Easter coming up really soon, I have been working on my DIY Moss Easter Baskets.  And I am having a blast doing it.  That makes it even more fun to share with you…

DIY Moss Easter Basket

Come on and let’s take a look how I made my adorable DIY Moss Easter Basket:

DIY Moss Easter Basket

To create my DIY Moss Easter Basket I used:

reindeer moss

peat pots

tacky glue

wired ribbon

packaging shred

foam brush

I found the peat pots at the 99 cent store.  Crazy!!  I have literally been looking for peat pots everywhere!  (And, yes, I did search all of my local nurseries)

I made my Moss Easter Baskets much like I made my Moss Wreath.

Using a small paint brush, I brushed the peat pot with glue.  I then adhered the moss to the peat pot, making sure to also cover the rim of the pot.

To add the handle, I made 2 holes in each side of the peat pot. I threaded my wired ribbon through the holes and tied a knot inside the pot.

For a “filling” I used packaging shred, along with some candy.

Seriously!!  Easy DIY Moss Easter Basket.  It doesn’t get much easier than this.

Except, I need to make 18 more…Gotta love being a grandma to so many.

DIY Moss Easter Basket

I hope you have enjoyed this quick and easy DIY Moss Easter Basket.  It is one of my favorite crafting projects.  I hope it becomes one of your’s, too.  There is still enough time to make several for those in your family, friends and neighbors.

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope you were inspired to create your own DIY Moss Easter Basket.

Make it a wonderful Wednesday!!

It looks like something in the woods for the fairies to use. I love it! To think you found the peat pots at the dollar store!

These are so sweet! And so easy. Can’t believe you had such a hard time finding peat pots at this time of year…considering is seed starting season. I love the natural look of it, have fun making 18, I just might have to try one, too.

Such a cute Easter basket. I love the look of moss. I just pulled out a big Easter egg I covered in moss last year and I still love it. Never thought about doing a moss basket. Very pretty!
