$8 Thrifted Chandy Makeover

November 12, 2013 By Meegan 27 Comments

Happy Tuesday!!  I am so excited to be here today.  There is so much going on with the Holidays coming up and decorating, wrapping presents, family visiting, etc… BUT, I am happy to be sharing my $8 Thrifted Chandy Makeover today!  Seriously, I might even be a LITTLE obsessed with this!!

So, here is the story and the makeover.  You will be amazed at this transformation!  I know, I was…

$8 Thrifted Chandy Makeover
One day out thrifting, I found these 2 beauties.  They were each $8 a piece.  Not too shabby, right??  With a little cleaning and some creativity they would be beautiful.

I had BIG plans for the 80s chandy.  She was going to be amazing when I was done…

After cleaning the chandy, she needed to be rid of all her electrical parts and wiring.
After a few snips here and there, She was ready to be painted.
Yep, I used a flat paint and hand brushed every part of this beauty.  I wanted a chunky, layered look for the paint.  I wanted every part of the 80s gone from her.
Isn’t she looking fabulous so far??
I found 3 votive cups at Dollar Tree.  They were the perfect size to fit atop the chandy.  Using 9001 I affixed the votive cups to the base of each cup.  I followed the directions on the tube and let it set for 24 hrs.
Oh my!  I am LOVING this!!
While shopping at Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby I found just the right bling for her.  Each one I chose to use is a Christmas ornament.  Perfect timing to to be blinging up a chandelier, right??

Here she is in all her glory.  Looking chippy, glamorous as a chandy should.

Thanks to Hubby for hanging this beauty right above our thrifted table.  I literally was jumping up and down!
I love the look this $8 thrifted chandy brings to our home.

She LOOKS so romantic with all the candles lit up.
Remember what it used to look like???$8 Thrifted Chandy by meeganmakes.com
And, you will also see the thrifted $8 mirror hanging right near the “new” chandelier.  Right where she belongs, too.
I have grown to really enjoy thrifting.  Do you shop at thrift stores?  What are some beauties you have transformed?  I would love to read about them and see them!

Make it a thrifted Tuesday!!
