French Silk Pie Recipe

December 30, 2012 By Meegan 4 Comments

Don’t you just love chocolate?  How about a French Silk Pie Recipe with REAL butter and real whipped cream-yes, REAL whipped cream-no fake stuff here.

Well, if  you like both of these, I have a delish recipe for you. It is a perfect recipe for a special Brunch, Mother’s Day, Christmas dessert, or even a New Years Eve Party.

I have been making this since the beginning of time-well since I have been married and it is a hit EVERY TIME.

I have a friend who was expecting a baby, she didn’t want a gift from me-only this pie.  She got what she wanted!  I also made my French Silk Pie Recipe while I was visiting family in Oregon-it was a hit, again.  So I thought I would share it with you.

I have the whole list of ingredients for you, below.

 {French Silk Pie Recipe}

Crust Ingredients:

2 cups crushed graham crackers

3 Tablespoons brown sugar

1/3 cup melted butter

Combine all ingredients.  Press on bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie pan.  Chill while preparing filling.

If you want to bake this, you can. But it is not necessary. If you choose to bake it, preheat your oven at 350* and bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool, completely.

Filling Ingredients:

6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup butter

2/3 cup granulated sugar

1/8 tsp salt

2 tsp vanilla

3 large eggs

Melt chocolate chips.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy-approximately 10 minutes.

Add salt and vanilla, beat on high speed.

Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition for 5 minutes for a total of 20 minutes.

Fold in cooled, melted chocolate into mixture.

Pour into pie shell.

Whip 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream with 1 tsp vanilla and 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar until light and thick.  Chill at least an hour before serving, or up to 24 hours., for best flavor.

I KNOW you will enjoy this recipe in your family for many years to come.

This French Silk Pie Recipe is seriously the best pie you will ever eat!  I promise. It is VERY rich, so try a small piece first, and I guarantee you will go back for more.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Make it a great day!
