Boho Style Vases from Tin Cans

April 23, 2020 By Meegan 2 Comments

I don’t know about you. But with having to be home a lot, I have an abundance of empty tin cans. In-between cooking homemade chili, chicken or tuna salad, or a quick bowl of canned soup. My can collection was growing. It gave me the inspiration to made these Boho Style Vases from Tin Cans.

With Spring here and the flowers blooming under the cottage apartment living room window, I have a beautiful way to decorate my  home for Spring.

Or actually anytime of year…

If you are want to make your own Boho Style Vases from Tin Cans, this is this is what you will need:

2-15 oz cans

3 yards chunky lace and/or pom poms

glue gun

extra hot glue gun sticks

crystals

spray paint-color of your choice

I started by washing out, disinfecting and removing the labels on each of the tin cans. The cans I used were 15 oz. But you can use any size that is best for you.

I had some lace left over from making a Boho style pillow and a Spring styled terracotta pot.

This chunky lace has become my favorite way to bring a Boho flavor into the cottage apartment.

The next component for the Boho Style Vases from Tin Cans were my vintage glass crystals. I have used these before when making the Driftwood and Crystal Sun Catcher and Lamp makeover. I know that you can buy glass crystals here.

After the spray paint has dried, I hot glued the chunky lace to the rim of the can.

Using my hot glue gun, I attached the crystals on top of the lace. Having the crystals “dangle” in front of the lace adds both texture and dimension. But you could do what is best and most eye appealing for you. If you like it, it’s perfect!

I am loving the look of my Boho Style Vases from Tin Cans. Especially with the copper painted cans.

The paint color, lace and crystals add a whole new level of style, don’t they?

The next can is made with pom poms and lace. You can see how I also used the pom poms here.

Super simple. With simple components, attached with hot glue. My kind of craft.

Yet, lovely for creating a one of a kind look for any table.

The pop of pink really brings out all the elements, doesn’t it?

I hope you have enjoyed and been inspired by this super easy idea. I would love to see what YOU come up with using your own creativity. Tag me on Instagram, Facebook or twitter. Use the hashtag #whatmeeganmakes So I can see your amazing ideas.
