Cleaning Vintage Mirrors

May 4, 2018 By Meegan 6 Comments

I have been compensated for this blog post by SC Johnson. Although, as always, all ideas and thoughts are my own. #WindexSparkle Windex® Foaming Glass Cleaner

Cleaning Vintage Mirrors has become a necessary task for me. When I come home from a day of thrifting, I typically have purchased a mirror or two. (I know, it is a weakness.)

Usually when I bring a thrifted mirror home, it is filthy. There is grime, years of dust and grease covering these lovely pieces of history.

To work my “magic” for Cleaning Vintage Mirrors I like to use Windex® Foaming Glass Cleaner. The foam adheres to the glass and gives the mirror an unbeatable streak free shine.* A real added plus.

I started collecting mirrors when we moved into our cottage condo. Not only for extra light, but to add personality, as well.

One of my favorites is from my grandparent’s bedroom set. I love the shape, where it has been and the stories it could tell. I remember many times sitting on the vanity bench next to my grandma as she put her coral colored lipstick on. I can still remember her laugh, voice and that lovely lipstick.

Part of saving those memories is taking care of what I have. That includes using Windex® Foaming Glass Cleaner. I like using the aerosol spray can. As soon as I spray it on the glass, the foam has already started lifting the grime, dust and grease.

To honor grandma’s and now “my” gorgeous vintage mirror, I need to care for it. So, the legacy and memories carry on. When the mirrors are clean in our home, everything else feels clean. When looking in the mirrors, I see a crisp, clean home and vivid memories of my grandparents.

I found my Windex® Foaming Glass Cleaner at Walmart.

Easy peasy shopping is a necessity as a thrifter and lover of all things vintage.

My hope is to pass things like my vintage mirrors on to my children and grandbabies. The best thing I can do is care for them now.

Cleaning Vintage Mirrors is just as easy as that.

You can also clean any other glass surfaces, vinyl outdoor furniture, your kitchen sink, and glass stovetop with Windex® Foaming Glass Cleaner.

I hope you have learned a few tips and tricks to use in and around your home today.

Thanks for joining me.

Make it a wonderful day.

I do not have any vintage pieces, but I like looking for them at garage sales and such. I will have to purchase a vintage piece one of these days.

What a gorgeous piece! I used to have a similar one. Wish I still did after seeing this. I am so glad I tried that Windex, too. Cleaning vertical surfaces is so easy now!
