It’s Field Trip Friday to Meegan’s Condo today!  I realized I always show you the inside of our home, but never the outside.  So today we are going to take a little tour of where I live.  Yep, a Field Trip Friday to Meegan’s Condo…

Let me preface this by saying, I am NOT a fan of where we live.  I mean the desert.  It’s hot, cold, windy, dusty, and well not my cup of tea.  BUT, I have learned to love what is around me.  Even if it isn’t my first choice.

If you know me at all, you KNOW I love the ocean, the waves, the beach, the salty air, and the smells of the ocean life.  So I decided to create my own beach cottage haven, right here in the desert.  Life is good.  It’s very, very good.

Now onto the field trip.  These are my stairs leading up to our home.  We live a simple life upstairs in our condo.  Outside is full of things to observe and appreciate.

Hubby and I have so enjoyed this cactus bloom over the past few weeks.  It has grown so long, it is over the walkway up the stairs.  We leave it alone, because of the beauty it welcomes us with everyday.

As you look to the right while you walk upstairs, you can see our balcony.  It’s isn’t very big, but we are in the process of making it a part of our home.  Using a settee and a few plants we will have another cozy and utilized space, just for us.

Looking out the balcony, we have a new tree that will shade us by next Summer.   I have watched the sunset from our balcony MANY times.  The desert has some of the most beautiful sunsets.

Now on our way back down the stairs…

Walking to the left of our stairs, the walkway leads you towards the golf course.

The tree is a fruitless cherry tree.  I like the contrast of colors compared to the golf course grass and brush.

These lovely purple blooms are Texas Rangers.  They are planted all over our area.  They are hearty and so beautiful when it gets hot.

When I first met Hubby, he taught me to love nature.  To see the beauty all around me.  Now that I live basically in a cement jungle, I choose to see the green, the beauty and love what I have.  Would I move to a beach house tomorrow??? You betcha!  But, for now I choose to be content and happy right here in our beach cottage in the desert.
