Fresh Homemade Salsa

April 18, 2013 By Meegan 1 Comment

Fresh Homemade Salsa is a staple in our home. I don’t know about you, but I love salsa.  I could eat it everyday.  I may or may not eat it everyday.  Okay, I eat it every day!!

So, when my friend Jenna shared her “famous Fresh Homemade Salsa recipe” with me, how could I resist not trying it?

The ingredients are fresh cilantro, green onions, tomatoes, onions, and jalapenos that give a real kick!  Just the way I like it!

Fresh Homemade Salsa For Cinco de Mayo

{Jenna’s Famous Fresh Homemade Salsa }

1 large can diced tomatoes

4 small cans Mexican Style canned tomatoes

1 bunch cilantro

1/2 yellow onion cut in quarters

1 bunch green onions (Use about 2 inches off the bottom of each stalk)

2 green peppers

1-2 jalapenos (will add some heat)

1/2-1 serrano chili (these are HOT, you don’t need much)

Juice from 4 limes

Salt, Pepper, Garlic salt to taste (I put lots, because I like the salty flavor-so don’t be shy)

Wash all fresh ingredients.

Chop the green peppers in quarters, remove seeds from chilies -if you wish(the “heat” is in the seeds)

Using a sharp blade on your food processor, chop all fresh ingredients: cilantro, green peppers, chilies, and onion together.

Stir into the undrained canned tomatoes.

Add lime juice.

Season with salt, pepper, and garlic salt.

This will last for at least a week, so you can make a lot at a time.

Who wouldn’t want a little Fresh Homemade Salsa from scratch everyday.  It is great with tortilla chips, on eggs, to make guacamole.  AND perfect for your “Game Day” menu!!

Thanks Jenna for letting me share this incredible recipe.

I am so glad all of you stopped by today.  It is always a pleasure to have you here.

Make it a great day!!
