You guys! I love love love me some comfort food. That is why I make my Mashed Potato Perfection Recipe very often.
I know you all may have your own mashed potato recipe. Probably a family recipe handed down, generation to generation.
I did, too. BUT, once I tried this inspired by Tyler Florence, I have never made any other mashed potato recipe. Yep, it is THAT good.
This Mashed Potato Perfection Recipe is all about the fresh ingredients. No margarine, or low fat milk here. If you are going to make mashed potatoes, go all out!
That’s my philosophy, anyway.
Mashed Potato Perfection Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb Yukon Potatoes (sliced in 1 inch slices)
3 cups whole milk
3 whole garlic cloves (peeled and smashed)
3 oz softened cream cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Tools or Gadgets:
Mixer with a whipped attachment
Cut refrigerated cream cheese into 2 inch cubes. Leave at room temperature until ready to blend into mashed potatoes.
Boil sliced potatoes and garlic in 3 cups whole milk until soft. (Not crumbly)
Drain the potatoes and garlic from milk.
Reserve 1 cup of the milk to add to the mashed potatoes later.
Leaving the garlic in the potatoes, mash the potatoes with a mixer and whipping attachment (or by hand). Be sure that the garlic pieces are blended well and not in chunks. (You definitely do NOT want to bite into a chunk of garlic while eating your yummy Mashed Potato Perfection Recipe.)
Gradually add milk for desired texture and thickness. This could be between 1 cup to a 1/4 cup of milk.
Mix all ingredients until well blended while adding salt and pepper to taste.
Once you have everything well blended, you are ready to serve this Mashed Potato Perfection Recipe.
After trying my Mashed Potato Perfection Recipe, you won’t ever need another mashed potato recipe. It’s perfect for Holiday meals or even a week night side dish. You can’t ever go wrong serving this.
Even my husband that does NOT like cream cheese, LOVES this. So, I hope you try this soon and let me know what you think. I would like to hear all about it.
Thanks for joining me today!
