It has been years now that I have used ground turkey instead of beef. I am not a huge meat eater. No real reason, other than I don’t like the texture. Call me weird, I know, but I just don’t. (It is just one of my many quirks!) BUT, I do love Meegan’s slow cooker turkey chili. With so many spices to flavor the meat and beans, it is delish. So delicious in fact, that even my grand-kids beg me to make it for them!
So, I bet you want the recipe right? Well, you are in luck! I would love to give it to you today…
{Meegan’s Slow Cooker Turkey Chili}
Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1 lb ground turkey
2 cans diced tomatoes
1-15 oz can kidney beans, drained
1-15 oz can black beans, drained
40 oz can pinto beans (not drained)
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 red pepper chopped
2 1/2 Tablespoons chili powder
1 tsp red pepper flakes (this makes it pretty spicy, so add to your own taste)
1/2 Tablespoons garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon ground cumin
1 pinch black pepper
1 pinch ground nutmeg
salt to taste
Directions:
1. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Place turkey in the skillet, crumble, and cook until evenly brown; drain
2. Coat the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray, and mix in all ingredients thoroughly
3. Cover, and cook for 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.
And there you have it, in ALL of it’s delicious goodness. My slow cooker turkey chili. Delicious times 100!
Add some grated cheese or a spoonful of sour cream, and the layered flavors make your taste buds jump…
With the peppers, garlic powder, cumin, and nutmeg, this turkey chili is packed full of flavor. Most everything can be found in your pantry already. You may just need to buy the ground turkey. Although I am sure it would be terrific with ground beef, as well.
I hope you try Meegan’s Slow Cooker Turkey Chili soon and pin it for future use.
Thanks for being with me today. It is my pleasure to have you here!

Hi-I made this for my family tonight for dinner and they couldn’t stop ranting and raving about how good it was! I loved it too!
The only thing I did different to the recipe was add one small can of tomato sauce… to give it a little bit of juice.
I know I will be making this again very soon for Halloween.
Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

This looks delicious! I’m totally putting this on our dinner menu once it cools off a little bit here. It’s still in the 80’s, and I’m more of a chili-in-the-60’s-and-70’s kid of girl (is that weird lol!?!) :)

Not weird at all, Heidi!! I hope you try it and let me know what you think :)
