Winter White Home Ideas

January 6, 2016 By Meegan 6 Comments

Well, hello my blogging friends! How are you doing this first week of January? Is your Christmas tree down yet? I took mine down yesterday, but left a few things up to share my Winter White Home Ideas.

I just can’t quite let go of ALL of it yet. And I think having a Winter White Home is relaxing and peaceful.

Winter White Decorating

Do you decorate for Winter, too? It has been a passion of mine for about 4 years. I would look in store windows and shops and see beautiful and inviting Winter White decorating. So, I decide to bring that same feel into my own home.

Happy first Monday in 2015!!  I hope your holidays and celebrations were as eventful and wonderful as mine.  It’s nice to be back blogging again, and visiting with you! Today I have some Blue Winter Decor Ideas.  I WISH they were my own, BUT they are from my talented and creative momma.

I am excited to share them with you along with I’ve Got The Monday Blues series, again.

I got away from the series when I was traveling in the Fall and then when the Holidays , and Hubby’s heart surgery came along.

I know this is one of YOUR favorite posts of the week, so I am happy to oblige with MORE blue ideas, loveliness, and ideas.

The Monday Blues-Mid-Winter Shelves

March 3, 2014 By Meegan 3 Comments

Happy Monday!!  I’ve got the Monday Blues for my Mid-Winter Shelves today.  I always love the blues.  My kitchen shelves are one area that I like to change for every season in our home.  Plus, if you know me at all, you KNOW I always enjoy sharing my blues. I am excited to share the Monday Blues today.

I also shared my Mid-Winter shelves on From My Front Porch To Yours yesterday.  Pamela asked me to share “how I found my style”.  It was a REAL honor to be a part of her blog.  Please Pamela a visit and give her some blogging love.  She would be so happy I sent you.  Besides that-she has a fabulous blog!!

I am still out of town with lots of packing behind us.  Whew!  We are almost ready to make our trek across the country.  I hope you are following me on Instagram and my FB Page.  I am posting pictures and places of interest all along my trip.  The hashtag is: travelingwithmeegan.  It’s a lot of fun traveling with my daughter and her 4 children all the way to Georgia from Utah.  We actually hit the road early Tuesday morning.  Follow along as we see this gorgeous country!!

Now onto the Monday Blues Mid-Winter Shelves.

My Mid-Winter Shelves are filled with some of my favorite jars.  Most of them are vintage and original Ball Jars.  I also have 3 vintage milk bottles that help balance the shelves.

Hubby is the one that likes to collect milk bottles.  The milk bottle with orange printing is from a local dairy where we grew up in Southern California, Foothill Dairy.  So that is personal and nostalgic for us.  The ball jar with twine wrapped around the top is a thrift find that I found for $1.  Awesome sauce-right?

The scale on top is from my Grandma’s kitchen.  Yes, she actually used it.  I am happy to own it and have it in my own kitchen now.  I made my own Farmer’s Market sign.  My mom was so sweet to give me the 3 hook-lid Ball jars.  (She knows me well.)

The jar on the far right was given to me by Hubby about 30 years ago.  I didn’t even realize how much I liked vintage jars or bottles then.  But have kept it in our home ever since.  He knows me well, too (insert smile).

One last look at my Mid-Winter Shelves for today.  Pretty soon it will be time to set them up for Spring.  Time to get my creative juices going again, right?

Thanks for joining me today for the Monday Blues-Mid-Winter Shelves.  Do you have Mid-Winter decor in your home, too?  I hope you have been inspired, and enjoyed today’s post.

I am happy to be here every Monday for:

My Winter Book Shelves

January 3, 2013 By Meegan 11 Comments

I woke up the past few days to temperatures in the 20s and 30s.  Not common for here, and it did get me in the mood to decorate for My Winter Book Shelves.

Since i just took down Christmas yesterday, Valentine’s Day can wait just a few more weeks.  And I just love me a winter look.  How about you??

I started by adding my Christmas wreath and pine cone garland.  I love the leafless look with just twigs and a little icy look.

I had a some pine cones left over from my Christmas decorations so I added them to my jars and cloche.  The mercury glass votive was a gift from my sweet friend, Lynn.  She knows my taste well, doesn’t she??   Does’n’t it look so perfect on the candlestick??   The branch with the hummingbird nest was our Granny’s.  I am loving this bare winter look so far!!

My Winter Book Shelves

Most of my book covers are dark.  So to add a softer look, I turned some of them around so you could see the pages, rather than the covers.  Easier than making white covers for all of them.  Although, that is on my goal list…

This is probably one of my favorite items in our home.  I love this rusted birdbath filled with doorknobs.  The door lock with a similar knob, and a single pine cone remind me of times past.

This barn wood box is another thing that makes me smile.  I added some pine cone garland for her.  I love the white, brown sparse look for winter decor.  And of course, some shells and white rocks add more texture.

I added a few more pine cones for the wintery look.  I also turned my book ends sideways, so you can see the detail.  Aren’t they so perfect for this shelf.  I found them at Kirkland’s in brown, brought them home and painted them up!!

I have used this twig ball several times all over our home.  Again using the pine cone garland for a little filler and my jar to add a small vintage feel.

I filled these jars with pine cones and magnolia pods.  Raising one of them with a candle holder gives the feel of an apothecary jar.  Easy!!

I am loving the whole picture here.  The girl portrait, the coffee filter garland, the pine cone garland, the framed wreath, and of course a few shells scattered in-between it all, makes me smile.

What is inspiring you for winter and the new year??  Leave a comment and let me know-I love to hear what inspires others!!
