Teacups and Saucers Collection

August 25, 2014 By Meegan 6 Comments

Happy Monday everyone!  School starts here today and I am thinking about all the Mommas out there kissing their babies “goodbye” for the school year.  NOW it’s time to have some fun.  Sit back, relax and join me while I share my Teacups and Saucers Collection .

I collect seashells, and recently I started a Teacups and Saucers Collection, too.  I love the different patterns and styles, don’t you?

Teacups and Saucers Collection

You can use a Teacups and Saucers Collection in a variety of ways around your home.

You can stack them, or have them sit on their own.

    Teacups and Saucers Collection

You can buy them at the thrift store for a few dollars.

OR you can buy them at a department stores like Macys, Dillards, Kohls or Nordstrom.

Teacups and Saucers Collection

You can buy them in your favorite color. Like pink, blue, green, yellow, etc…

Teacups and Saucers Collection

You can purchase mismatched Teacups and Saucers.

Teacups and Saucers Collection

  You can group them altogether.

Teacups and Saucers Collection

See the little red tea cups?  My Grandma made them along with the tea bag holders on the left.  (More about her work later in the post.)

 Teacups and Saucers Collection

Using your family heirlooms, or handmade items to highlight your Teacups and Saucers is a beautiful approach, too.

You can invite your friends over for tea and cakes.

You can add fresh flowers, a candelabra, and your best silverware to make your tea party a little some extra special.

Teacups and Saucers are idea to insert a plant.

Set a teacup and saucer on a shelf as a conversation piece.

Have you ever worked with ceramics?  I have a little bit.  My grandma did a lot.  She actually made the tea cup in the next three pictures.

She had painted every tiny detail.

On both sides!

I LOVE that she added her initials to the bottom.  This cup is one of a kind.  She only made one like this.  I feel special to own it.

I like to use my Teacups and Saucers Collection all around my home.

 Teacups and Saucers Collection

Sometimes I stack them up.

Teacups and Saucers Collection

Sometimes I lay them out.

Sometimes have a brainstorm and hang them on the wall using hot glue and a paper clip.

Every once in awhile I rearrange the stack so the pretty center and details show.

Teacups and Saucers Collection

They hang above my laundry closet.

Teacups and Saucers Collection

And they hang above my pantry.

There is one thing that I know for sure.  I really like my  Teacups and Saucers Collection all around my home.  DO YOU??  What do YOU collect?

Leave a comment and let me know.

Make it a wonderful Monday filled with laughter.

What a lovely collection. I really like the one with the gold edging.
I have the complete teaset that My Nan and Grandad had for their Golden wedding anniversary (everyone in the family bought a different bit – I bought the milk jug I remember) I keep it all boxed up in the loft at the moment, I’m a bit afraid to risk breaking any of it but I would like to put it on display or even use it. It’s super flowery and pink, very fussy pattern but my Nan LOVED it so much. You’ve made me think about what a waste it is to have it packaged away. Thanks

Ooh, Meegan, I love your collection!! And, how nice that you really use and display them, rather than just stash them in a cupboard. You mentioned hanging them with a paper clip and hot glue? I saw that idea online and tried it, but my plate fell down….luckily it fell on the carpet and didn’t break. Any suggestions? Linda

Beautiful teacups! I especially like the idea to put a succulent in one. Succulents and teacups are so trendy right now. Why not combine them!
