Terracotta Pot Turned Vase

April 1, 2014 By Meegan 7 Comments

Spring is just days away. This year is moving so fast. Blossoms, flowers, and fresh new life is everywhere you look.

This terracotta pot turned vase is so simple and looks perfect for Spring.  I would love to show you how quick and easy it is to make.

What you will need:

1 terracotta pot

1 bag of reindeer moss

1 jar small enough to fit in the pot snug

Fresh cut flowers

I have mentioned before that I do not have a great thumb.  BUT, I do love plants and flowers in our home.  For me toattain the look of  fresh flowers growing in our home I transformed a terracotta pot turned vase.

Using a worn terracotta pot, I placed a mason jar inside the pot.  I used a jar small enough that it fit snug at the bottom of the pot and you can’t see it over the top of the pot.  I then filled the jar with water.  Easy, so far, right?

My next 2 components to use were reindeer moss and fresh cut flowers.  I wanted moss around the edges of my pot to appear as Spring was popping up on my shelf.

Next, I sprayed the moss with water so it would be pliable.  I placed the moss around the edges of my pot and in-between the jar.  I like the look of a little moss hanging over the sides, too.

I then put my fresh cut flowers in the water-filled jar.

I now have fresh flowers “growing” in our home with my terracotta pot turned vase.  Easy peasy and a new fresh look for my terracotta pot.

Thanks for popping in today.  For more Spring ideas look here.

I hope you have been inspired and will make your our Spring themed shelf or terracotta pot.

Make it a terrific Tuesday!

Looks great Meegan. I will have to try that as I always have so many flowers blooming and I like to put some on my coffee table in the patio and my patio dining table – should tie into the garden theme.
So glad that Spring is here and I am sure all of our bloggers in the Mid-west and east coast are happy that it has finally come.
    Have a great week.
