Today I am happy to join my blogging friends. Each one of us is taking time away from our regular blogging routine. We are going to share our hearts and thankfulness this time of year. My thoughts today will be: Thankful and Blessed Flowers.
I just love flowers of any kind, color and species. This time of year I like corals and whites of any shade.
What are Thankful and Blessed Flowers, you ask?
First of all, I found this lovely bouquet for a few dollars at the grocery store. I consider that a blessing. AND, I am very thankful that I can freshen up our home with a simple rose bouquet.
Look at these petals. There are so many on each rose that I can hardly count all of them. As the rose opens more, there are more petals and more beauty.
That is how my life has been. The more years that pass, the more blessings I have. AND the more I can’t keep track of my blessings.
The past 10 years or so, I have been trying to keep better track of my blessings and what I am thankful for. Daily I write in my journal a list of my blessings. It could be anything from, I have running water to I can pay my bills today, to my daughter text me.
Life has a way of creeping up on us. We get so busy, that we can forget to stop and realize that we should be thankful. Even for the simplest things in our day to day routine.
When the petals fall off, they are still beautiful and a reminder that my blessings are still here, whether I remember or not.
Each rose petal reminds me of a specific memory, blessing, tug at my heart and the love I am blessed with in my life.
A few of the petals on these gorgeous roses remind me:
*I have a loving husband that cares for me and understands my heart.
*We have a beautiful family. (Not perfect, yet beautiful)
*I know God lives.
*I am blessed with good friends.
*I was raised by a loving family.
*We have food to eat.
*I live in a free country.
*Having had physical ups and downs, I feel blessed to continually receive guidance for health.
*This list can go on and on. Kind of like the petals on a flower.
I am grateful to share my Thankful and Blessed Flowers with you this time of year.
As each day passes I pray that I can have a grateful heart for all that I have.
The next time you receive or buy a bouquet of flowers, I hope you remember my Thankful and Blessed Flowers. And in turn, think of your own blessings.
Thanks for joining me, and I hope you will visit my dear blogging friends. There blog links are below.

What a beautiful post! So much better to look at flowers this way instead of “he loves me, he loves me not.” We ARE loved–and have so much to be thankful for! :)
Bless you, Meegan!

Meegan what a lovely way to count our blessings, by looking at the petals of the flowers. I agree with you wholeheartedly. We are so blessed to live in a place where we can take so much for granted and not worry about the basic necessities. Thank you for inspiring us to do this blog hop with you and for sharing your thoughts with us.

Lovely, what a beautiful way to remind ourselves of the blessings we have. I’ll never buy roses again without thinking of how blessed I really am. I’m sorry I missed the fun this time, it is a wonderful subject that we all need some reminders for. God bless you Meegan!

Meegan, I’m always grateful for flowers too. I love the analogy you made with the petals and life’s blessings. Counting them one by one…it’s so good for us in every way.
Thank you for organizing this little group of sweet ladies.

Meegan, I love your rose petal analogy. Roses really do remind us of all things beautiful in life. I too keep a Gratitude Journal and the power of focusing on the positives each day is so powerful!

Meegan,
I’m new to your blog thanks to Lisa (The Purple Hydrangea). This was beautifully written and very heartfelt for me. Nothing puts me more at peace than a beautiful bouquet of flowers, especially roses as I have them growing in my back yard.
Have a wonderful day!
