Thrifting with Meegan

April 25, 2014 By Meegan 2 Comments

While I was traveling this past month, I had a chance to visit and shop in many thrift shops.  Today I am bringing you along as I go Thrifting with Meegan.

My first thrift stop was in Oregon.  I walked down the street through my daughter’s town to see all the thrift shops.  It was rough, as you can see. (wink)

Right off the bat I spotted this lovely rose-colored punch cup.  Isn’t it a beauty?  Lately I have been on the look out for tea-cups and saucers.  And the punch cup was just the right color and shape I needed.  Price, you ask?? One dollar. Yay!!

I was on a roll.  Our next stop was Home Goods.  I KNOW, Home Goods isn’t a thrift store, but my daughter had never been!  I KNOW!  Can you believe that???  I found the center tea-cup and saucer at Home Goods.  Isn’t it classy???  Price??  $2 for the set!

Once I arrived home, I dropped off a few items at our local thrift store.  While I was there, I thought I would pop my head in and see what they had.  The last time I was there I didn’t find one tea-cup or saucer.  Boo!  THIS time I had better luck.

I found this classic gold trimmed tea-cup.  And the tiny gold trimmed floral saucer.  I think they were $1 a piece.  They are not really a set, but I like the combination.

As I was browsing through the many rows and rows of coffee cups and saucers, I came upon this dainty rose, cup and saucer.  Do you see a trend of the gold trim happening here??  Yep, that was what I was hoping for.

AND, I wanted each piece to be china, not ironstone.  China has a different look and feel.  Each cup and saucer did not have to be fine china.  Just china.

Here is a closer look at my Home Goods $2 find.  It is in perfect condition.  No cracks or chips anywhere.

On my way out of the thrift store, I spotted this amazing plate!  It’s another timeless addition for my thrifted plate wall.  Again, it has gold trim!  The thrift gods were smiling down upon me that day!  Yep, it was a dollar! (huge smile!)

And who can resist a ball jar, no matter the cracks, rust, and wear.  It has an ideal purpose as a vase on my Spring Shelves.

Not only did I find tea cups and saucers, but a steal of a deal dresser for our closet!  But, that is for another post coming soon…

I hope you enjoyed your trip Thrifting with Meegan.  It’s always a treat to share my thrift finds with you.  To see all of my thrift finds follow me on Instagram.  Hashtag: #thriftingwithmeegan

You found some awesome treasures. I’m the queen of HomeGoods, seriously they know me by name. I’m an avid tea cup collector. Thanks for sharing with us at Wake Up Wednesday Linky Party.
