A Nod To Fall

August 23, 2021 By Meegan 26 Comments

I love, love Summer. There is no doubt about it. As it is the end of August, I know Fall is coming on, soon. So with that, today’s blog post is A Nod To Fall.

If you are visiting from The Roots of Home, I am more than excited to have you here. I hope we will get to know each other better.

As part of today’s Celebrate Fall Home Tour, I will be working with and sharing incredible bloggers and their own Fall Home style. There is everything from vintage, pumpkins, wreaths, outdoor decor, mantels, fall and neutral colors. All you could want for Fall and more. I will be sharing their links in the bottom of this post.

Like I mentioned, I LOVE Summer. Don’t get me wrong-I enjoy Fall. I like using blue and orange, lavender and even pumpkins of all shapes and sizes.
That being said-I live in Las Vegas. Where it is HOT. The sun is shining, the pool is cool and wearing sandals is a year round thing, most of the time.
To “Fallify” my cottage apartment, apples, tangerines and vintage blue mason jars are perfect for this Summer lovin’ girl.
To add textures, dimension, interest and color-it’s fun to create something unique with my thrifted finds. Whether it’s my 1970s refurbished stereo, farmhouse corbels or a thrifted glass dome and pedestal. They each add personality for a Fall look.
Resting fresh Gala apples on the tops of vintage blue mason jars and filling the glass dome with real tangerines adds a touch of Fall without going over the top.
Oh! And the croquet box! This was my grandpa’s. It’s covered in chippy goodness. My vintage mason jars, hydrangeas, peonies and apples sit in it beautifully this time of year.
A few small pine cones and apples in a Fido jar along with a demi-john bottle add some Fall goodness, as well.
And every space needs a chandelier, don’t you think?
As well as setting the table with “new to me” vintage pink wine glasses (that I mentioned here)-used as apple holders.
And sweet Fall themed dessert plates for a slice of key-lime pie.
As you can see, I love giving A Nod To Fall and enjoy my Summer in the meantime. How about you?
Thanks so much for stopping by. As you look through and enjoy the Fall inspiration from the many bloggers below, be sure to visit my darling friend, Zucchini Sisters, too.
Make it a wonderful day, my friends.

Your cottage apartment looks so pretty decorated with a nod to fall. I love your wheat dishes! My aunt had those and seeing them brought back great memories.

Meegan, you have some great ideas here for fall. I’m still in the midst of decorating so now you have me itching to get out and shop for some great new and vintage pieces. I especially love that large amber jar. So pretty!

Thanks for stopping by, Patti! Isn’t the amber bleach bottle amazing? I found it at a local antique shop and now I am on the hunt for more :)

Your home looks lovely! I agree that going full out on your fall decor in August just seems too early. But like you, I love adding small touches of fall to my decor. Thanks for the inspiration

The blue mirror gallery is sooooooooooo stunning, Meegan. What a great way to make a small home look bigger and don’t even get me started on that croquet box. That’s so special.

Oh, that’s my favorite spot in the apartment, right now. Each of the mirrors was thrifted or less than $10.
I know, right! I don’t think I could ever let go of the croquet box. Not only the look, but sentimental reasons of playing with Grandpa on Sunday evenings for years.

I guess amber glass is the new color trend, huh? I just love vintage pieces and to incorporate them any way I can. Who knows what it will be next :)
I, too enjoy seeing the traditions and styles all around.
      Take care, my sweet friend.

Meegan – this is so pretty! I love the apples on the jars – such a cute idea. And I totally get what you mean about hot Vegas. We lived there for 7 years and it was difficult to welcome that Fall season when the temps were still soaring. You nailed it, my friend! And I wish I could stop by for that key lime pie! ;-)

    xoxo,
    Jen
