My month of October has been filled with my own Fall Decorating and Recipes. I have everything from grocery store flowers, thrifty ideas to my own thoughts about life after fifty and over.
Let’s start off Fall Decorating and Recipes with Dollar Store Halloween crafts.
I am not a “scary” Halloween type of decorator. So I used some fun sparkly ribbon and garland on my empty jelly jars. This made pretty vases and/or candle holders. Each one would also be a darling gift filled with candy. It took just a little time and creativity for these Halloween crafts.
I love to use vintage table cloths and crochet in all of my tablescapes. Usually the crochet handy work was crafted by my own grandma. That makes it even more special to me. I also like to use grocery store flowers. I like to have them around our home all year long. Especially in my Fall Pastel Tablescape.
In October I was a part of a Fifty and Over Blog Hop. There were many ideas, thoughts and experiences shared. They are inspiring for all of us, no matter our age. I hope you take a few minutes to read my own experience of taking care of my FIL last days before he passed away. Definitely a life lesson.
Another fun blog hop in October was all about 31 Handmade Christmas Ornaments. I made a snowflake ornament with a gold monogram. I will make 25. One for each grandbaby in our family. I have more Christmas decorating ideas coming up next week, so stay tuned…
I just love to share with the Thrifty Style Team each month. In October I talked about how I can use my thrifted silver tray in various ways around our home. I use it for decorating, organizing and Holidays. I am so glad I found it for a $1. So much fun to find a steal of a deal!
After dinner, I usually end up with leftover rice. I save it to make my own Stove Top Rice Pudding. It is creamy, flavorful and delicious as breakfast or dessert. It is a must try.
As for a new Fall comfort food recipe, try my own Grilled Cheese and Apple Sandwich. With the sweet taste from an apple and the melted cheddar cheese, it is Fall in one bite.
I hope you have enjoyed my Fall Decorating and Recipes from October. It is always a joy to have you visit my blog.
Make it a lovely day…
