Thrifted Christmas Tree and Magazine Feature

December 14, 2015 By Meegan 5 Comments

Hey there my dear followers! I am so glad you joined me today. I have been busy wrapping presents, baking and (re)decorating our living room Christmas tree. And between all that fun I have a Thrifted Christmas Tree and  Magazine Feature to share with you today. Did you see me doing cart wheels down the street, or hear my “WOO HOO”? I am just thrilled about this news and I couldn’t wait to share it with YOU!

Okay, so it all started with this $4 Thrifted Chair.

Red-Chair-Before

I found it on a quick trip to the thrift store. And at $4 how could I resist?

But with a little craft paint, I could have something ideal for our front porch.

Thrifted Red-Chair

Yes, you read that right, I used craft paint.

The next part of the story about my Thrifted Christmas Tree and Magazine Feature is this Christmas Tree.

Thrifted Tree Before

When I spotted it, I KNEW I needed it. It wasn’t the color I wanted, but I KNEW I could turn it into something I loved with just a little paint and some glitter.

White Spray Painted Christmas Tree

I started out by spray painting my new tree with Krylon Glossy White Paint.

Using Mod Podge and a foam brush, I “painted” each end of the boughs on the tree. I used a chunky glitter and diamond dust combined for the bottom of the tree.

Thrifted Tree Makeover

I worked my way up and just used the diamond dust on the remaining boughs.

I just LOVE the new look of this tree, don’t you?

Christmas Trees at MIchaels

Just shortly after I finished my thrifted tree, I spotted these white trees at Michael’s. It is almost the same tree! I couldn’t have been more pleased.

Everything Home Magazine

Now for some fun news!

My red chair and my thrifted Christmas Tree was featured in the online Everything Home Magazine. There is a three page feature about me. It was beautifully written by my dear friend Deborah from Salvage Sister and Mister. My feature starts on page 49. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

It has been fun and a delight to share my fun news about my Thrifted Christmas Tree and Magazine Feature with you today. It certainly is something I am very proud of. I hope you will visit Everything Home Magazine soon. There are many articles to enjoy and be inspired by.

Thanks for stopping by today. I am always happy to have you here.

That is such a pretty upcycle Meegan! I love how paint can transform something mundane to fantastic! And the glitter is the icing on the cake! Merry Christmas!
