If you were here last week you will have seen my Patriotic Banner made for just a few dollars. I just love it. Anything red, white and blue always sparks my interest. Especially because July 4th is my birthday. Cool, huh? Well, since I have a thing for anything patriotic, and book pages, I thought I would show you How To Make a Patriotic Book Page Banner. Sounds fun, right?
You will need:
1/4 yard red polka dot fabric (torn in 2 inch wide strips and 14 inches long)
1/4 yard navy blue polka dot fabric (torn in 2 inch wide strips and 14 inches long)
1-1 1/2 yards of jute
30-50 vintage book pages folded like fans
a hole punch
scissors
Let’s get on with all the details of How To Make a Patriotic Book Page Banner. It is actually very similar to my Burlap and Book Page Banner.
Fold each book page into a fan. Punch a hole in the center of the fan.
Once they are all folded, begin stringing them on the 1 yard of jute.
Now it is time to add your strips of polka dot fabric. Tie each strip in a simple knot- with about 6 to 10 pages in-between each strip.
Once all of your strips of fabric are tied on, take about 10 minutes to open the fanned book pages. Open each one carefully as not to tear the pages. Using vintage book pages you have to be careful. They tear very easy. If a book page tears. No worries. Just simply tear it all the way off, or leave it as is. It all depends on the look you want.
I love the yellowed pages with the red and blue. It looks worn and used, doesn’t it? And with extra flags and the Patriotic PB knock-off banner, we are ready for the upcoming Patriotic Holidays.
Now that you know How To Make a Patriotic Book Page Banner, how many do you think you will make? The Patriotic Book Page Banner is ideal for ANY party, front porch, or even on your Bar-B-Que tablescape as a runner.
I am excited to hear about your ideas and creativity.
Thanks for joining me today. It was my pleasure to teach you How To Make a Patriotic Book Page Banner.
Have a wonderful day…
