Happy Thanksgiving!!

November 22, 2012 By Meegan Leave a Comment

Our Thanksgiving was yesterday. I spent the day helping make 23 pies from scratch with my cute and amazing friend.  We made french silk, pumpkin, cherry cheesecake, apple, peanut butter, coconut cream, lemon, 3 berry, peach, chocolate cream, and pecan!!

Then my friend invited over several friends and family for “Pie Night”.  She literally had a sea of pies for everyone to choose from.  I love the new tradition for Hubby and I.  We spent the evening relaxed and enjoyed the company of so many dear friends and loved ones.

On Sunday will be eating a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with one of our daughters and her cute family.  It is funny how quickly Holidays change when you have an empty nest.  But, we wouldn’t trade our lives for anything else in the world.  We are sincerely blessed with incredible children, amazing grand babies, and parents who love us.  Life couldn’t be better.

I hope your Thanksgiving is a day to treasure!!

Six Fall/Thanksgiving Decorating Ideas

November 10, 2012 By Meegan 11 Comments

Oh my!!  Fall is upon us and Thanksgiving is just days away.  I thought it would be fun to share with you  Six Fall/Thanksgiving Decorating Ideas.  I LOVE using my kitchen shelves as a focal point.   I chose to decorate them with 2 different styles, so you can see how easy and simple Thanksgiving decor can be.

My first choice is going with all whites, browns and a touch of blue (you know how I love blue!)

I love the outcome of this look.  I used a jar from my croquet box filled with book page cones.  I also painted my little pumpkins, that used to be orange.  Super easy!!  I really like to use empty frames so I used this one from my tv room.

I used the same PB knockoff pumpkin from my Halloween Shelves.  I think it goes perfectly with the theme.  I have my grandparents old books that I used for levels.  The pine cones are from outside.  Again-easy peasy!!

I think is goes very well with my Fall Paper decor

For my #2 idea: I added Fall colors to my Fall Shelves, because Hubby still likes the traditional orange (which happens to be his fave color)

I used a few of the same elements, but added some traditional Thanksgiving colors as well.  Don’t you just love this scarecrow?  He is my fave!!

For my #3 idea:

I am so pleased with my Fall Coffee Table.  Simple and easy to bring Thanksgiving into our home.  I painted this orange pumpkin white to blend with my ideas.  I also rolled some book pages for a wreath look.

For my #4 craft:

Another great idea to bring Thanksgiving into your home.  Using your used jars and add book pages with mod podge. Let your imagination go and create something wonderful for your table or mantel with these.

For #5 decor:

I had so much fun making this paper decor!!  Again-easy simple and inexpensive!!  It took me less than an hour to put this altogether.  This would also look great as a centerpiece, don’t you think?

And, #6:

I also added some Fall decor on my bookshelf for a more Thanksgiving/Cottage feel to our home.   I love to use my PB artichokes all over the house!!  I love them in this vessel.  They are perfect with the pumpkins and gourds.

I hope you have been inspired to decorate for Fall with my Six Fall/Thanksgiving Decorating Ideas.  It’s fun to change up and move around accessories to get ready for the Holidays, don’t you think?
Make it a Super Saturday!!

My Fall Coffee Table

October 25, 2012 By Meegan 7 Comments

Hello, Hello!!  How is your week going??  I am so excited to share My Fall Coffee Table.  But, in the meantime, we are winding down with the wedding plans, and I am drowning in 2500 coffee filters!!   Just 9 more days until our son and his cute fiance are married!!  Wooo!!

In the meantime, I have been doing a little Fall decorating here and there.  I had so much fun refreshing this table in the Summer.

Joel Jones had given me a “$30 Challenge” and this is what I bought for starters.

I LOVE the results!!

But now that Fall is here, it was time to bring in the Fall colors and tones.

I started out with this orange pumpkin.  I really like it, but it doesn’t fit with the rest of the colors in our home.

So I did what any other DIYer would do, I painted her!!  Yep, I got some paint!!   I used the same paint that I used on the coffee table.  EASY!!!  I also took out the wreath, and added some book page cones like I used here.

My Fall Coffee Table

I added a few leaves from PB, some pine cones, a few of my coffee filter flowers, and some cattails.  NOW my coffee table  “fits” with our home.

Much better!! I just love my Fall Coffee Table It’s amazing what a little paint and a few book pages can do!!

I am also on Pinterest, Facebook, Hometalk and Stumble Upon.  I  am sure to see you soon around anyone of those!!  OR all of them!!

Make it a delightful Thursday!!
