Sixty Minute Yeast Rolls

August 15, 2021 By Meegan 21 Comments

Do you like yeast rolls for any day of the week? Does it usually take all day to make them? Well, I have a recipe (that won’t take all day) for sixty minute yeast rolls that is amazingly good AND quick.

This is a simple recipe for THE best rolls this side of Thanksgiving or Christmas. They are the most requested recipe for any of our family dinners.

These are so easy to make and can be a delicious side dish. They make any weeknight meal extra special.

      {Meegan’s Sixty Minute Yeast Rolls}

4-5 cups flour

3 T sugar

1 tsp salt

2 pkg dry yeast

1 cup milk

½ cup water

¼ cup margarine or butter

Combine 3 ½ cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in bowl. Mix well.  Gradually add (heated till warm) milk, water and butter to flour mixture.  Beat 2 minutes.  Add remaining flour ½ cup at a time.  Beat 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.  Place in greased bowl.  Cover, let rise 15 minutes, until double in bulk.  Punch down dough, roll into balls about 3 in. in diameter.  Place on a buttered baking sheet, let rise another 15 minutes.  Bake at 425* for 12-15 minutes until done. Makes about a dozen+.

Did I mention that they also make amazingly tasty sandwiches? Wonderful with your favorite tuna salad or chicken filling. Leftover turkey after Thanksgiving. OR the perfect cheese sandwich. Homemade yeast rolls are so versatile all year long.

Whether you have unexpected company, need a sandwich bread, or want to make a meal extra special, this Sixty Minute Yeast Roll Recipe is just for you!
I hope you will make this delicious recipe soon and let me know what you think.
Make it a wonderful day.

that said, I am going to try your rolls next week. I am holding you accountable for the turnout of my dinner ;)

Yeast breads are one thing I shy away from when it comes to cooking/baking but these look yummy and sound easy enough that I might even give them a try.

I could have used this recipe the other night! I had a hour to make dinner and couldn’t find a quick yeast bread recipe.

Do you use Self rising flour or All purpose flour?

That is a good question Tracey. I use all purpose flour. The yeast helps these to rise :) Thanks for stopping by!!

I’m blond when it comes to baking. My mom always makes my husband yeast rolls. This recipe looks so easy I want to try.
But could you tell me, is it just the milk that I would be warming up? Are would it be the milk, water, and butter. Also can you use stick margarine?
    Thank u.
