Homemade Banana Cake with Butter Cream Frosting Recipes
Pre-heat oven to 350*
Cake Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 real butter, softened
2/3 cup buttermilk
3 eggs
1 1/4 cup mashed bananas
2/3 cup pecans, chopped
Grease and flour 9×13 baking pan.
Measure all ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
Blend 1/2 minute on low speed scraping bowl constantly.
Beat 3 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
Pour into greased pan.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes depending on oven. When a wooden pick is inserted and comes out clean, cake is done.
*While cake is baking, make homemade butter cream frosting.
Butter Cream Frosting Ingredients:
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup REAL butter (softened)
2 Tablespoons whole milk
1 tsp REAL vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
Whip butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy. Gradually add milk and flavorings. Continue whipping for about 2 more minutes. Your frosting should look almost pure white.
When cake has cooled, sprinkle chopped pecans on top and you are ready to serve!
