No Bake Oat and Almond Pie Crust

January 3, 2019 By Meegan Leave a Comment

I have been making my No Bake Oat and Almond Pie Crust for about 40 years. I use it all the time with cream pies. Whether it’s a lemon cream, French Silk or chocolate cream, this No Bake Oat and Almond Pie Crust is just the right flavor and texture for any cream pie.

It is also a great crust for laying in parfaits or to use as a crumble topping. Definitely a tried and true recipe for your file or for pinning.

Recipe for No Bake Oat and Almond Pie Crust

1 cup uncooked quick cooking oats

1/4 cup sliced raw almonds

3 Tablespoons brown sugar

1/3 cup melted butter

Toast oats and almonds in a dry skillet until light brown. Be careful not to burn either the oats or almonds as they will become bitter tasting.

Combine with remaining ingredients. With a fork, lightly stir to make a crumble texture.

Press oat crumble mixture into a 9 inch pie tin until even on the bottom and around the sides.

Chill while preparing filling.

Fill the pie crust with your favorite cream filling, top with whipped cream, garnish with fresh berries and eat it all up!

I have made this No Bake Oat and Almond Pie Crust without the raw almonds and it’s “okay”. I must say I do like it much better with the almonds. I like the added crunch and flavor better. That is my preference. Yours might be different.

I hope you enjoy this No Bake Oat and Almond Pie Crust recipe as much as my family does.
