Sweet and Spicy Popcorn Recipe

November 28, 2018 By Meegan 6 Comments

This Sweet and Spicy Popcorn Recipe will be your next “go to” snack or party food. With only 4 ingredients and just minutes to make, it is delicious and a crowd pleaser.

My Sweet and Spicy Popcorn Recipe has sweetness from brown sugar and spicy goodness from Sriracha chili sauce.

This Sweet and Spicy Popcorn Recipe is so easy with minimal instructions, so let’s get started.

Sweet and Spicy Popcorn Recipe

Pop 1 bag microwave popcorn, popped and poured into a large bowl

In a skillet or small sauce pan, sauté 3 Tablespoons butter and 3 Tablespoons brown sugar until melted and brown sugar is dissolved. Stir for 1 minute.

Gradually add 1 1/2-3 Tablespoons Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce. I say “gradually” because the Sriracha sauce will pop and splatter as you add it to the hot butter and brown sugar mixture.

Stir in the chili sauce, until well-blended and simmer for 1 minute.

Slowly pour over popped popcorn.

Stir until popcorn is evenly covered with your sweet, buttery and spicy mixture. The consistency of the cooled sweet and spicy sauce will be creamy like caramel.

Seriously! You will want to eat the WHOLE bowl! But, for our party guests I put spoonful’s into cupcake paper cups for individual servings.

It can be additive. (Yes, I may have eaten the whole bag, myself. But, that’s OUR secret, okay?)

The flavors are balanced with that touch of HOT that lingers in the back of your throat. Yum!

I hope you try my Sweet and Spicy Popcorn Recipe for your next Christmas, movie night or family get-together.

Thanks for visiting today. Make it a great day!

My son would devour these, Meegan. He loves anything and everything spicy. Pinned and definitely sharing this recipe with him.
