Top Ten Home Decorating Ideas

December 28, 2017 By Meegan 1 Comment

At the end of each year, I like to share my favorite or most pinned blog posts. Today I am sharing my Top Ten Home Decorating Ideas (and a few recipes) from 2017.

Each one is unique to my taste and style. I hope by browsing through my Top Ten Home Decorating Ideas, you will be inspired by your own creative juices to make your home inviting and a warm place to land.

Along with my Top Ten Home Decorating Ideas, you will also find two of my favorite recipes. You know, because everyone loves a good meal, right?

Making a DIY Embroidery Hoop Wreath was a great way to add a fresh look to our living room. My plan is to make a few more in various sizes to hang in front of my living room mirror. I will let you know when I do.

While decorating for Fall and Thanksgiving, I tried using the traditional Fall colors. BUT, this year I wanted to change it up a bit by Using Grocery Store Flowers to decorate for Holidays.

I was drawn to pastels, neutrals and grays for Fall. Perfect for a softer feel for the season.

While adding vintage style textures to our everyday home I decided to Use a French Bread Basket to organize and decorate.

I love this look all year long.

Our Summer wasn’t exactly how we planned. AND living here in Vegas-it is WAY to HOT to go outside, unless you are in a pool. So, instead I thought it would be fun to Have a Summer Picnic indoors.

It ended up being one of my favorite tablescapes I have done. The colors and textiles blend and compliment each other.

This past year I joined the “Thrifty Style Team”. Every first Wednesday of the month several bloggers share their own thrifty ways to decorate. One of my ideas is to Decorate with Vintage Bottles and Jars as a thrifty style tip.

It’s easy peasy and a great way to create a “one of a kind” collection.

I am pretty slow when it comes to taking down Christmas decorations. SO, I keep some of them out to use with Winter Ideas for your home, porch or office.

When it comes to How To Create a Cozy Space my friends and I came up with a few tips and tricks for you. Everything from pillows, candles, vintage pieces, etc.. for your home decor and a cozy home.

I love to collect bird nests. Is that a weird thing? It might be-BUT I have shared How To Use Bird Nests as Home Decor

Bird nests are unique and can be a conversation piece.

I have shared a real life story about a nest and the hummingbird that lived there. My mother-in-law had cancer during this time. The story can be found here. Bring tissues…

Making food-good food is one of my hobbies. This Bean and Fresh Veggie Fajita Recipe is one your family will want time and time again. Vegetarian or not-it is delicious.

Years ago, I learned this tip about How To Double a Cake Mix (almost)

The recipe is ideal for a large crowd or when you need more cupcakes than a regular box mix can make. ENJOY!

There ya go. My Top Ten Home Decorating Ideas and a couple of recipes that have helped turn our desert condo into a Condo Cottage. I would love to hear your ideas, tips and tricks, too.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope all of your Christmas wishes came true and your New Year will be bright.

Hi Meegan! I can’t wait to dive into your posts!!! Where are you in the Vegas area?? I wish I’d met you online a few years ago when we’d drive out to Las Vegas at Christmastime when picking up our son who’d come home from college in South Dakota on Allegiant airlines… It would have been fun to meet even if just for a few minutes. You’re right… It is WAY too hot in the summer to really eat outside, unless it’s 6:00am. Lol! I was always amazed at how hot it was when we’d roll in from Riverside County in California around 9 or 10 o’clock at night and it’d still be a monsterous 109 degrees outside. Perfect for walking around and seeing the sights!!!

Happy New Year to you and your family,
    Barb :)
