I am always looking for economical ways to update and decorate our home. Today I am sharing my 12+ Ways to Update Your Home for Under $15. Enjoy as I take you along with my DIY projects and creativity…
Paint and Stencil a rug you already own. It will be refreshed and updated in a flash.
Make your own Cardboard Chalkboard and frame it with a thrifted frame.
Buy a string of patio lights and hang them inside for a nice effect.
Head over to your local nursery and buy a few indoor plants. Place them in a decorative pot. Easy peasy.
Take some time and buy your favorite thrifted plates and saucers. Hang them the easy way, with hot glue and a paper clip. You can even frame them if you want
Another thrifting tip…Buy Readers Digest books in your home colors to add color and depth in your home.
I love green or blue glass bottles or jars. I purchased each one of these for $2 or less. Over time I have quite a collection. They look just fab in my Grandpa’s croquet box.
I had a blast finding my thrifted $8 Chandy and transforming into something worthing of some crystals. She looks lovely above or dining table.
Using a bathroom waste basket I already owned, I mod podged book pages and a lovely cut out on it. It’s a perfect addition to our guest bathroom.
I bought a sample of chalk type paint and painted a $10 thrifted chair. Using the gold wax added depth and character. Yes, you can say I love it…
Making a terracotta pot into a vase is probably one of the easiest projects I have done and inexpensive. The look is shabby and classy.
Shells are an EASY way to decorate your home. I have them all over our home. The cost??? Usually nothing.
Cut some flowers from right outside your own front door. Fresh flowers add a crisp feeling to any home.
Using a thrifted, vintage dictionary, make your own book page wreath. It really is so fun and festive any time of year.
Did you know I had 12+ Ways to Update Your Home for Under $15??? It’s fun and a challenge for me to see what I can get and use in our home for little or no money. Is it the same for you, too???
Leave a comment and tell me your favorite thrifty way to decorate your home. I would LOVE to hear about it.
Make it a wonderful Wednesday…

Meegan, what kind of paint do you use to paint your picture frames? Also, where did you get your curtains that are next to your bookshelves? Love them! I have been looking for fabric like that in the exact colors to make my own for months.
Meegan says
Hi Marilyn!
To paint my frames, I either use an interior flat paint or chalk paint. My curtains are actually sheets from Wal-mart :) Easiest curtains I have ever made.
Thanks for stopping by and asking me questions. I love that.
Make it a fabulous day!

Love these practical and pretty tips! I happen to use Reader’s Digest books for inexpensive decor…my mom actually bought them and let me take them…that was years ago. Considering how expensive old books are, this is a great alternative.
Thanks for the inspiration!
